First opened in 1997, Longbow Golf Club immediately established itself as a modern classic in the East Valley. Following a complete redesign in 2001, the new Longbow is even better. With the addition of a striking new clubhouse, expanded acreage and totally revamped practice facility, Longbow more than ever is a "must-play."

Designer Ken Kavanaugh's open and graceful configuration features twelve new holes and six originals that have been modified slightly. His redesign eases the desert-style challenge with wider fairways and an additional par 5 that boosts par to 71.

In the very capable hands of developer Daedalus Real Estate Advisors, LLC and OB Sports Golf Management, Longbow is committed to a simple goal: presenting a facility of superior quality at an affordable price.

"One of the top player friendly courses in Phoenix and Scottsdale!" Golf Tips Magazine - Travel Annual

You're fresh off the airplane from someplace where the weather might be a little less hospitable and you want to play golf NOW. Or you're about to leave the Valley of the Sun (we realize some of you have to) and want to squeeze in one more wonderful round before you depart.

Named by GolfWeek Magazine as "One of the Top 20 Courses in Arizona," Longbow features a par-71, 7,003-yard desert golf layout complete with Palo Verde, Mesquite and ancient Saguaros common to this gorgeous corner of the Sonoran Desert. Many of the tees are elevated just enough to take advantage of commanding views of the surrounding Superstition Mountains, Usery Mountains and nearby Red Mountain that towers over the desert floor.

Strategically speaking, Longbow Golf Club, much like its medieval namesake, demands accuracy, strength and skill to score. The tenth hole, for example, calls for a bomb over desert from the tee. This cuts some length off the hole, but at 626 yards from the back tees, getting home in two isn't an option except for the longest of hitters. Instead, mere mortals must try to make birdie with their wedge. The seventeenth hole illustrates the way golf course architect, Ken Kavanaugh, cajoles golfers into a high-stakes game of risk and reward. At 309 yards from the back (268 yards from one up) a solid drive may yield an eagle try. However, far from defenseless, the seventeenth green is well protected by bunkers and grassy swales to the left and desert transition area to the right.

Named "One of the Best 19th Holes" by the Tribune, golfers can belly-up to the bar in Longbow's clubhouse. In addition to tasty fare and thirst-quenching libations, this stateof-the-art facility offers various amenities including a well-appointed golf shop, spacious outdoor patio with fans, heaters, misters, an enormous patio fireplace and indoor/outdoor kitchen and bar.

With more than 300 golf courses in the valley, the options can be overwhelming. Cut through the confusion and capture the essence of Arizona golf at Longbow Golf Club!
