And that they have with refreshed look in the clubhouse and Grill (including adding a half dozen flat screens) and enhancing agronomic practices and rolling out a new loyalty program that is amongst the area’s favorites (the Gold Card).

But the course layout is the main headliner at Club West. This par-71, 7,142 yard layout (from the tips) takes full advantage of the foothills and promontories of the lower slopes of South Mountain. From the first tee to the 18th green, the elevation varies by as much as 100 feet. Holes meander their way over and around desert foothills, between cacti and through stunning rock formations.

The course was designed to begin as a relaxed warm-up, then gradually demandmore accuracy from players as the round progresses, coming to a crescendo at the clubs finishing holes. No.15 is a delicate and awe-inspiring par 3 that plays from a hillside to a large green below. While the par-3 17th (routinely voted one of the best par 3’s in the state by the golfers of Arizona) is an exhilarating configuration of two greens—both tucked into the hillside with steep vertical drops below the teeing areas—reached by hitting from a mountainside as much as 217 yards away.
