Destination Prescott - Stay & Play

ARIZONA’S FIRST TERRITORIAL CAPITAL

The Prescott area

Surrounded by breathtaking landscape and one of the nation’s largest ponderosa pine forests, Prescott is a must-see for the outdoors person. Five area lakes and more than 450 miles of recreational trails offer a wealth of activities and adventures.

Prescott’s history and cultural heritage are readily apparent: nearly 800 buildings on the National Register of Historic Buildings, four museums, the historic Courthouse Plaza and famous (and once infamous) Whiskey Row are hallmarks of this charming, mile-high community.

The Prescott area has 144 cool holes of golf – 90 of which are public – just 90 minutes north of Phoenix. Boasting some of the state’s most beautiful, affordable, stateof-the-art public and private golf facilities, Prescott offers year-round play.

Prescott’s mile-high climate makes it an ideal destination for golfers. With over 300 days of sunshine each year and average summer temperatures of 85 degrees, there are plenty of reasons to spend some time here. Each course offers challenging, varied terrain, including rolling hills, tree-lined fairways and granite outcroppings. The game is made even more pleasant by the sweeping views surrounding the courses.

The Prescott area

Enjoy panoramic views of the Granite Dells and Mogollon Rim at Antelope Hills Golf Course, boasting two challenging, par-72 courses designed by Gary Panks (South Course) and Lawrence Hughes (North Course). Antelope Hills also boasts one of Prescott’s most popular restaurants, the Manzanita Grill. Other public area courses include the Prescott Golf and Country Club, StoneRidge Golf Course in Prescott Valley and Quailwood Greens in Dewey.

During the summer, take advantage of local hotels’ “Stay & Play” packages. Prescott has accommodations to fit every budget and taste. Enjoy lodgings at a premier historic hotel, quaint Victorian Bed & Breakfast or economical budget inn.

Between rounds, there are lots of other activities to enjoy – such as browsing the galleries and boutiques of historic downtown, wetting your whistle at one of several saloons or grabbing a bite at any of the fantastic restaurants or bistros.
