Southwest Section PGA Donates $10,000 to Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation

{mosimage} The Southwest Section PGA announced that it recently donated $10,000 to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation. Curt Hudek, executive director of the Southwest Section PGA, said the money was raised through the Scottsdale City Junior Championship, held in at Kierland Golf Club in Scottsdale earlier in the year. “This was a great event,” Hudek said. “The donation was made possible due to a $10,000 contribution from the Scottsdale Charros.”

Ashley Robison, special event coordinator for the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation, accepted the check on behalf of the organization. Ms. Robison said the money will help in several areas.

“Since Phoenix Children’s Hospital is a non-profit we take in any child regardless of their ability to pay,” Robison said. “Besides (helping with) the medical needs of our patients these funds will go to support areas such as our 1 Darn Cool School.

The Southwest Section PGAThe program helps patients keep on track with their curriculum while in the hospital. It will also help our Child Life Program, where our staff helps patients develop ways to cope with fear, anxiety, and separation from home and school.”

Robison added that the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation values the support of the SWSPGA. “We are so appreciative of Southwest Section PGA and its support so we can continue to provide the hope, healing, and best possible care that Arizona’s children deserve,” she said.
