U.S. WOMEN'S OPEN QUALIFIER SCHEDULED AT ALTA MESA GOLF CLUB

2011 U.S. Women’s Open ChampionshipQualifying for the 2011 U.S. Women’s Open Championship will be held at Alta Mesa Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona, on Thursday, June 2, 2011.

Alta Mesa is one of 20 sites that are hosting 36-hole qualifiers for the Women’s Open Championship that will be played July 7-10 at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Entrants for the Arizona 2011 U.S. Women’s Open Championship Qualifier include 20 professionals and 42 amateurs with a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 4.4.  The top three finishers plus 2 alternates will be identified to advance to the Championship proper on Broadmoor’s East Course.

The U.S. Women’s Open is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the USGA, 10 of which are strictly for amateurs.
