Hand Wins the Fiesta Bowl Million Dollar Hole-in-One

iesta Bowl Million Dollar Hole-in-One presented by Fox Sports ArizonaFor the seventh year in a row, there was no grand prize, million dollar winner at the finals of the Fiesta Bowl Million Dollar Hole-in-One presented by Fox Sports Arizona.

The event’s big winner however was Greg Hand of Scottsdale, Arizona who came within 4’ 9 ¾" and won a three-night golf trip to the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, South Wales. The “Manor” will be the home of the 2010 Ryder Cup and is considered on of Europe’s top golf resorts.

The second place winner, who received a weekend golf package at The Phoenician’s Canyon Suites for coming within 5’ 10 ½" of the million dollar hole, was Mike Reiter of Phoenix, Arizona. Reiter’s brothers Dave and Steve had come in first in 2004 and 2006 respectively.

In third place was Million Dollar Hole-in-One regular Mike Barter, also of Phoenix. Barter won a three-day Grand Prix racing experience at the Bob Bondurant Racing School of High Performance for his shot that was 6’ 2" away from the pin.

In all, 31 different golfers hit a total of 43 shots. Some of the golfers had advanced more than once during the 11-day tournament that began on Thursday, November 5 and culminated yesterday.

There were 33 holes-in-one recorded during the qualifying days.
