Ritz-Carlton Dove Moutain names Kenn Depew General Manager of Golf Operations

Ken DepewThe Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain has named Kenn Depew as General Manager of Golf Operations. In his new role, Depew will be responsible for golf operations, golf course grounds operations and the property’s golf caddie concierge program. Additionally, Depew will have general management responsibility for the clubhouse, including the concierge program for community residents and guests.

“Kenn brings unprecedented experience and expertise from his history with The Ritz-Carlton to his new position,” said Kevin Hammock, Vice President, Golf for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. “He joins us as we prepare for the January 2008 grand opening of the Jack Nicklaus signature courses and our clubhouse at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain. We are thrilled to have him at this pivotal time and believe he will play an integral role in our success."

Depew and his staff at the Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain will almost immediately thrust into the national spotlight when the facility hosts a World Golf Championships event in 2009.

The Nicklaus Signature courses will emphasize playability and aesthetic appeal while still posing a significant challenge to the world’s best golfers, who will experience the layout starting with the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in February 2009.

The nearby Gallery Golf Club at Dove Mountain hosted the 2008 edition of the Accenture Match Play Championship on its South course.

Depew brings more than 14 years of professional golf experience to The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain, most recently at The Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall, Jamaica, where he spent seven years as Director of Golf for the White Witch Golf Course. There he was responsible for the general management of the golf facility including golf operations, golf caddie concierge program and golf grounds departments and also served as an Executive Committee Member of The Ritz-Carlton Golf and Spa Resort, Rose Hall, Jamaica.Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain

Throughout the course of his career, Depew has been associated with many professional accolades, including The Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall, Jamaica being awarded the Golf Tee award from Meetings & Conventions magazine for excellence in golf and meeting facilities in 2001 and 2004 through 2007. Conde Nast Traveler named White Witch Golf Staff/Golf Service “Best of the Best” in their 2004 100 Top Golf Resorts survey, and Travel & Leisure Golf rated The Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall, Jamaica as the No. 1 Golf Resort in the Caribbean in both 2006 and 2007. Depew was personally awarded “Golf Professional of the Year” in 2002 by Ritz-Carlton Golf.

Depew began his education at the Naval Nuclear Power School and Prototype in Orlando, Fl and Ballston, NY (U.S. Navy School) and went on to study Chemical Engineering at Central Michigan University and then Business, Marketing and Retail Management at Ferris State University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree.
