The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain Announces Director of Sales & Marketing, Stephen Deucker

The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Deucker as Director of Sales & Marketing. Mr. Deucker will lead the Sales and Marketing efforts for the new 850 acre resort in the high Sonoran desert. With over 23 years in the hospitality industry, 19 have been with the same parent company and the last five as Director of Sales and Marketing at the AAA Five-Diamond-rated Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota.

There Mr. Deucker was accountable for the creation and implementation of integrated marketing programs, leading innovation, driving sales, advertising and public relations programs, and creating world class teams that consistently exceed strategic goals. He was also responsible for launching and positioning three new Sarasota business units which included The Ritz-Carlton Members Beach, Spa and Golf Clubs.

Stephen completed his undergraduate studies at Johnson and Wales University where he double majored in Marketing and Hospitality Management and recently received his Masters in Business Administration from The University of South Florida. Stephen is a current nominee for Tourism Leader of the Year, an honor to be awarded in May by the Sarasota Convention and Visitors Bureau.  He was awarded Special Achievement in Sales and Marketing for the Southeast Region in 2007 and is a two time Chairman’s Circle winner. Additionally, Stephen was awarded “Sales Team of the Year” in 2000 for exceeding revenues and strategically overcoming an incredible pace deficit.  Stephen began his career managing many different departments, including the Front Office and Conference Services.

In line with the global hotel company’s evolving design philosophy to offer hotels with an authentic “sense of place”, The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain—designed by HKS Hill Glazier Studios of Palo Alto, California—will be a low-rise, four story building embracing the style and feel of the desert southwest and is scheduled for completion in fall of 2009.

The main building of adobe block, straw-flecked stucco, clay tile and native stone will include 226 lavish guest rooms and suites. Separate buildings nearby will feature 24 individual casita rooms and suites. Every guestroom and suite will offer views of the expansive desert terrain including lush desert vegetation, rugged rock formations, and ancient petroglyphs. In addition to the open space within Dove Mountain, the 2,400-acre Tortolita Preserve borders the southern edge of Dove Mountain.
