ConCan Country Club

ConCan Country Club is tucked in the hills, not far from the crystal clear Frio River, in Northern Uvalde County. This location, with its panoramic views of the nearby hills, is an example of the Texas Hill Country at its finest. The course, with a c ampionship length of 7,333 yards from the back tees, will challenge the best players. Yet three more tee positions down to 5,187 yards at the forward tees will give each level of player an enjoyable round. The practice area offers a driving range with target greens and a feel of the fairways. A 6,000-square-foot practice green and chipping green complex rounds out everything you need to perfect your game.

ConCan Country Club is a semi-private golf course with a limited number of memberships available. The golf course has 99 home sites surrounded by fairways, and with over a third of them sold before the Grand Opening, others are already realizing how special it is at ConCan. The building restrictions on homes in the golf course will maximize property values and with several homes already under construction you will be able to see the results. For tours of the golf course and home sites call and set up an appointment.

Texas Parks and Wildlife has given the golf course a wildlife management designation. And with the lake stocked with large mouth bass, birds migrating through the river valley and deer sleeping in the hidden corners of the course, it will be hard to concentrate on the game at times.

The design studios of Bechtol & Russell Golf (www.bechtolrussellgolf.com) of Austin, TX laid out this course to maximize the views from each fairway to show off this stunning Hill Country location. Their use of premium Zoysia on the fairways and native grasses around the tee boxes maximizes the playing experience yet minimizes the use of water and maintains the native beauty of this property. Roy Bechtol and Randy Russell are responsible for some of the best courses in Texas, especially the Texas Hill Country. With layouts like The Legends, Star Ranch, The Golf Club of Texas, Ambush at Lajitas, Steiner Ranch, Circle C and Comanche Trace under their belt, ConCan follows in a proud tradition.

Robert Larson of SEMA Golf started construction of the golf course in January of 2006 and by October construction was finished. SEMA Golf is one of the top golf course construction companies in the country and finishing a project this big and complex in this time frame is an example of that ranking. As with all new golf courses there will be years of grow-in and landscaping to come with the course getting better each year.
