Edwin Watts Golf

Edwin Watts Golf, golf’s most trusted retailer since 1968, announced that it will open a second store in San Antonio, TX with the acquisition of Golf Craft, which was recently designated one of America’s “Top 100 Golf Shops' by Golf World Business. T e addition brings the total of Edwin Watts Golf stores to 58 in 10 states including nine in Texas, maintaining its status as the largest, privately-owned golf retail operation in the world.

The new 8,640-square-foot Edwin Watts Golf store is located at 9360 Interstate 10 West and includes a hitting bay, an indoor putting green and a full-service repair shop. The new store provides the company with two ideal locations in the San Antonio market, including the original store that opened in 1999 and is located at 1050 NE Loop 410.

“We are very excited to expand in the San Antonio market with the acquisition of such a fine company as Golf Craft, and are pleased that owners Ed and Sue Royer have joined Edwin Watts Golf and will continue to manage the business,” said Edwin Watts, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Edwin Watts Golf. “Ed and his entire staff provide their customers a great level of service and exemplify the way we at Edwin Watts Golf do business.”

“Considering we have owned Golf Craft as an independent for 16 years, this was a very big decision for Sue and myself,” said Ed Royer. “But that decision was made quite easy once we met with Edwin and Ronnie Watts. They are focused and committed to success and without doubt on top of the industry. My entire staff has been retained and everyone involved has been extremely helpful and made for a smooth transition to Edwin Watts Golf. I look forward to many successful years as part of such a great and respected organization.”

The acquisition continues Edwin Watts Golf’s recent aggressive expansion having opened 10 new stores in the past 11 months. The company projects five or six more openings throughout the year.
