TaylorMade's New Burner Series Might Light Up Your Game!

TaylorMade's new Burner series is designed for players who prefer to bomb it, crush it, thump it and grip-it-and-rip-it. The new bullet-shaped 460cc Driver is supplemented with a fairway wood, the Burner Steel and a hybrid, the Burner Rescue. Like the Burner driver, the Burner fairway wood and the Burner Rescue hybrid were developed for players who like to swing fast and hit the ball hard, high and long.

Its astonishing union of size, shape and club-face technology give the Burner driver phenomenal * forgiveness, allowing it to maintain a level of ball speed on mis-hits that most other drivers can't match. Burner brings out distance that players didn't know they had. The Burner driver employs "SuperFast Technology" to make the club lighter and faster. An extra-light, 42-gram grip and a long and light TaylorMade SuperFast RE*AX® shaft that weighs just 50 grams, and stretches the length of the club to 46 inches creates a club that's approximately 20 grams lighter than the typical driver with a longer swing arc, significantly boosting distance. Testing indicates that SuperFast Technology promotes a distance increase of six yards. The driver is available in three lofts; 9.5, 10.5 and HT, and three shaft flexes; S, R and M.

Burner Steel fairway wood incorporates a large, classically shaped steel clubhead that boasts the highest MOI of any fairway wood in golf, 30% higher than even the TaylorMade r7 Steel model. It is available in 3-wood (15°), 5-wood (18°) and 7-wood(21°).

Burner Rescue hybrids feature a substantial steel club-head that's 7% larger than TaylorMade's Rescue Dual hybrid with a 13% bigger footprint. That promotes a high MOI for terrific forgiveness and long, straight results on off-center hits. Like the other fairway woods, its low and far-back CG position makes it easy to launch the ball high and long. The Burner Rescue is available in 3 (19°), 4 (22°), 5 (25°) and 6 (28°) lofts.

TaylorMade Introduces Burner XD Irons

TaylorMade Golf has introduced a new iron, called Burner XD, that incorporates the distance-enhancing technologies that have made the Burner driver such a huge success among tour professionals and amateur golfers.

In true Burner spirit, TaylorMade found every way possible to make Burner XD irons faster and longer. That includes RE*AX® SuperFast graphite shafts to promote faster swing speed for more yardage.

Likewise the ultra-large clubhead features a thin and fast titanium clubface that delivers exceptionally high COR to promote faster ball speed and more distance.

Burner XD’s titanium clubface is more than just fast, it’s also extremely forgiving thanks to TaylorMade’s Inverted Cone Technology, which is clearly visible on the backside of the clubface. ICT expands the part of the clubface that delivers high ball speed. Between that and the large and stable clubhead, Burner XD is extraordinarily forgiving and easy to hit.

Additionally, Burner XD’s titanium clubface is exceedingly light, and the saved weight is used to move the center of gravity low and deep within the clubhead. That makes it easy to launch the ball on a high, strong, long flight, promoting the kind of distance that Burner players covet. The 17-4 stainless steel clubhead and titanium clubface are joined using a method called lip encasement, a process that mechanically unites the two dissimilar materials.

TaylorMade Burner XD irons are available in 3-through 9-, pitching wedge, attack wedge, sand wedge and lob wedge. Left-handed is also available (except for lob wedge).
