Looking Ahead to 2010

Looking Ahead to 2010The Rose Factor

Over the years, many of you have told me how much you’ve enjoyed my golf travel diaries. I’ve been to Scotland three times, playing in the British Amateur at Muirfield, the British Mid Am at Royal Troon, and the British Senior Am at Blairgowrie.

I’ve been to England twice, including great links golf at the British Am at Formby (where 18 year old Jose Maria Olazabal defeated 19 year old Colin Montgomerie) and the best of parkland golf at Woodhall Spa for the Senior Am. But as great as these trips have been, everyone tells me that Ireland is better.

Well, I’m not getting any younger and my game’s not getting any better, so before it’s too late, it’s time for my next golf diary on my trip to Ireland. With help travel experts at Jerry Mac Golf, we’re putting together a golf trip to Ireland in June of 2010. So many great courses, in Northern Ireland with Royal County Down, Port Rush and Portmarnack.

The southwest region includes the likes of Lahinch, Ballybunion, Old Head and Waterville. Many have told me to forget the big names, go to the lesser names, where the golf is just as good, or better, and much cheaper too. Names like Killarney, Dooks Links, the Old Tom Morris course and new Sand Hills course in Rosapenna. Exact itinerary will be worked out before year end. Hope the photos on these pages help to whet your appetite for the Emerald Isle.

Save your money and block out the month of June, so you’ll be ready to join this special Golfer’s Guide golf trip to Ireland. It’s sure to be your trip of a lifetime.
