BMW Championship Selling Limited Number of Daily Tickets at Gate

A limited number of daily tickets will be available at the gate for the 2012 BMW Championship being held Sept. 3-9 at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind., Western Golf Association tournament officials have announced.

“With so many fans showing interest in attending, and with this being the PGA TOUR players’ first visit to Indiana in more than two decades, we’ve decided to offer daily tickets at the gate throughout championship week,” said Vince Pellegrino, Western Golf Association vice president of tournaments. “We want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to see the world’s top golfers compete on Crooked Stick’s famed Pete Dye layout.”

Fans wanting to buy tickets at the BMW Championship ticket office must first park and take a shuttle from Coxhall Gardens in Carmel (2000 W. 116th St.) to the main entrance of the BMW Championship–where the ticket office and will call are located. The ticket office opens at 8 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday, 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday and 10 a.m. on Thursday and Friday.

Tickets are $20 a day for practice rounds, Monday through Wednesday, and $75 per day for Thursday through Sunday when the top 70 PGA TOUR players will compete for the BMW Championship’s $8 million purse, including $1.44 million for the winner. The tournament is the third of four events in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup. The top 30 players after the BMW Championship will advance to the TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, where they will compete Sept. 17-23 for the FedExCup’s top prize of $10 million.

All proceeds from the 2012 BMW Championship will benefit the Evans Scholars Foundation, which awards full tuition and housing college scholarships to caddies from modest means.
