Bubba Watson Now Longest On Tour By 10 Yards; Blasts 31 Drives 300-Plus Yards For Charity

Busting 31 drives of 300 yards or longer at the Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by MasterCard this past weekend, Watson continues to dominate the tour with his all-pink PING® G20TM driver. He led the field in average driving distance once again at 321.1 yards. Not only does he remain the longest driver on tour with a 316.9-yard average, his average distance is a full 10 yards longer than his nearest competitor, Robert Garrigus, at 306.9. Including his tally at Bay Hill, so far this season Watson has raised $61,600 from equipment sponsor PING as part of his effort to raise $1 million for charities this PGA Tour season.

The  fundraising event is called, "Bubba Long in Pink. Driven by PING," and all funds raised go to Phoenix-area charities, chosen by PING with Bubba's support. On the season, more than 61% of Watson's drives have traveled 300-plus yards, by far the highest percentage on tour.

Not surprisingly, Watson also leads the Tour in Greens in Regulation, although his not-so-great Strokes Gained - Putting rank of 154 has kept him close, but out of the winner's circle, thus far this year. Nevertheless, Watson is currently 11th in the FedEx Cup rankings with 722 points, carries a scoring average of 69.75 per round, and is 10th on the Money List with nearly $1.7 million in season earnings. Bubba competes next at The Masters, April 5-8.
