Scientific Spit Shine – A Fun Way to Keep Your Equipment Clean

Fiz GolfGolfers tend to carry more gadgets than Daniel Craig in 007.

In a sport where frustration reigns, we'll try anything to improve our scores or confidence including laser-guided putters, GPS systems, range finders, wind gauges, putting green readers, weighted clubs, collapsable clubs and you might have even downloaded those golf courses aerial shots to your iPhone.

Chances are all of the items listed above seemed really neat when you bought them, but do they realistically help you improve? Better yet, are they practical for the casual golfer?

Something we all do is carry around a towel or two to dry our clubs, clean our clubs, clean our hands and shine up our golf balls. I know I often find myself dipping my golf club into whatever you called that rubber, grooved thing attached to the golf cart, same goes for the ball I'm using. It's necessary but it's not really a scientific process and it's not very fun.

I recently discovered a cool little item from Fiz golf that is both practical and inexpensive.

This portable tube that attaches to your golf bag contains a liquid that can be used to clean your clubs and balls. At the bottom of the tube is a collection of bristles that act as a cleaner. The product touts itself as a "Scientific Spit Shine" that will last for more than 100 holes, roughly six rounds of golf. This cleaning tube from Fiz Golf is scientifically formulated to dissolve dirt and erase grass stains. So save your spit because this is supposed to clean your gear more effectively than anything your body produces.
