Cobra Golf's S9-1 Fairway MetalsThe latest offering from Cobra Golf in the fairway metal family is the S9-1, a club that employs the latest technology to create easy-to-hit fairway metals that bring any green within reach.

Integral in the club's design is Cobra's "Hotter 9 Points" technology which promotes more COR (coefficient of restitution) across the entire clubface. In Leman's terms, COR refers to the "spring like effect" of modern clubfaces. This measures how efficiently energy is transferred from the face of your club to the ball.

The "Hotter 9 Points" technology is designed to create higher ball speed and more consistent ball flight wherever contact is made on the face of the club.

Additionally, a number of elements, including shallow face design, combine to push center of gravity lower and moment of inertia higher to increase launch and forgiveness.

Instead of a rectangular driver or metal model, as is employed by many golf club manufacturers, Cobra went with a more traditional clubhead design. The more traditional model instills confidence at address and enhances clubface efficiency by pinpointing more energy directly behind the ball.

Already top professionals are using this fairway metal technology. When Geoff Ogilvy scorched the field at this year's World Golf Championships - Accenture Match Play Championship, he used the new King Cobra S9-1 Pro 3-wood.

Ogilvy said it was a difficult equipment decision, and that the switch was made only a week before the Match Play event when he competed in the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club with the metal for the first time.

"The 3-wood is the hardest club in your bag to get right," he said.

It was another convincing performance from a formidable champion, and business as usual for a brand focused on developing innovative, high performance golf clubs.

The entire family of S9-1 Fairway Metals recently made Golf Digest's Gold Hot List. The club is available in S9-1 F, men's off set, women's, seniors' and the S9-1 pro, which was used by Ogilvy.
