Mizuno MP-52 IronsMizuno is touting its new MP-52 irons as "the most playable MP irons ever."

The anticipated performance of this iron set is based up two innovative technologies. The first is Dual Muscle Technology, which is an outer muscle pad that allows for a precisely placed, lower and deeper center of gravity, offering enhanced playability and an ideal launch angle, and an inner muscle pad which provides unparalleled feel and feedback that better players demand.

The second innovation that sets the MP-52 irons apart and advances MP iron playability to a whole new level is a patented CNC milled pocket cavity. Essentially, two deep crescents milled into the club head allow for the redeployment of 14 grams of mass for a lower and deeper center of gravity. The performance advantage of this feature is increased playability on mis-hits and a superior launch.

The result of this new technology is an iron that delivers an extremely consistent and predictable ball flight and unmatched workability while also providing extra forgiveness that any player can benefit from.

“The MP line of irons continues to evolve and to meet the demands of better players, many of whom are looking for increased playability in their irons,” said Dick Lyons, Vice President and General Manager of Mizuno’s USA Golf Division.

Lyons added that the increased playability aspect of the irons would in no way compromise the fell of the product thanks to the Dual Muscle Technology and a CNC milled pocket cavity.

The advanced features are combined with a classic head profile to deliver tour level looks, feel and playability.

Other features of the new MP-52 include a rolled leading edge, cambered mid-sole and an aggressively beveled trailing edge to deliver consistent striking ability from all types of lies, modified U-grooves that produce the idea spin rate for maximum playability in all conditions, and a durable double nickel chrome plated finish for a player preferred look.

The MP-52 will be offered in right and left handed models with True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 and R300 steel shafts for a suggested retail price of $1,100 and also available with Project X 5.5 shafts for $1,200. The exclusive Mizuno/Golf Pride M-21 58 Round grips will come standard. Shipping of the MP-52 irons to accounts began in September.
