2009 PGA Championship HazeltineFollowing the lead of Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters, the 2009 PGA Championship will welcome kids 17 and under accompanied by a ticket adult free of charge.

This year's PGA Championship, the last major of the calendar year, is scheduled for Aug. 10-16 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota.

Up to two juniors will receive daily passes and granted entry upon arrival at the gates for the 2009 PGA Championship; no special requirements are necessary to participate.

"The 2009 PGA Championship offers Minnesotans a rare chance to see a major championship, featuring golf's greatest competing in their backyard," said Michael Belot, 2009 PGA championship director. "This program makes it easy for families to share this exciting opportunity with the next generation of golfers in this state."

Daily junior tickets for the 2009 PGA Championship were originally going to be sold for $15, Monday - Wednesday, and $25, Thursday - Sunday, per junior when accompanied by a ticketed adult. As ticket sales are tracking toward a sellout by early summer, PGA Championship officials decided to implement this program to ensure the event remains easily accessible to families.

Tickets for the 2009 PGA Championship are available for purchase through the 2009 PGA Championship Web site, PGA2009.com, or by phone at 800-PGA GOLF (742-4653).
