Paula Creamer, John Daly Join Field for Monday After The Masters

Hootie & The Blowfish Monday After The Masters Celebrity Golf Tournament officials announced today that LPGA star Paula Creamer and popular NASCAR driver Kyle Petty headline the latest celebrities to join the field at the 2009 Monday After the Masters Tournament.
Actor Samuel L. Jackson and PGA favorite John Daly have also joined the list of professional athletes, celebrities, actors and musicians scheduled to participate next Monday.
After finishing one stroke shy of capturing her first LPGA Major at the Kraft Nabisco Championship Sunday, Kristy McPherson will make her first appearance in the annual celebrity tournament held in North Myrtle Beach, near her hometown of Conway. Fellow Gamecock golfer Kyle Thompson helps provide the South Carolina professional golf connections at the 2009 Monday After the Masters Tournament as he returns to the event.
Former NFL players Jim McMahon, George Rogers, Sterling Sharpe and Kordell Stewart will participate, along with South Carolina head football coach Steve Spurrier. Former Major League Baseball stars Mickey Tettleton and Chuck Finley will also compete in the 15th annual celebrity golf tournament
Representing the music world are recording artist, and one of the stars of Golf Channels’s Road Trip: Myrtle Beach Josh Kelley; his younger brother Charles Kelley, of the new country group, Lady Antebellum; R&B singer Javier Colon; pop rock performer Edwin McCain; musician Branford Marsalis; Alter Bridge drummer Scott Phillips; country singers Steve Azar and Johnny Lee; Andrew Copeland of Sister Hazel and Dan Tyminski of Union Station. Actors participating in the 2008 Monday After The Masters include Gary Valentine of "King of Queens"; and comedian Jackie Flynn.
The professional golf field is once again loaded with talent including Woody Austin, Eric Axley, Ricky Barnes, Matt Bettencourt, Kris Blanks, Josh Broadaway, Kris Cox, Chris DiMarco, Ken Duke, Lee Elder, Tommy "Two Gloves" Gainey, Robert Gamez, Chad Ginn, Billy Kratzert, Spencer Levin, Mark Lye, Jim McGovern, David Mobley, Larry Rinker, Lee Rinker, Nicholas Thompson and Jim Thorpe will participate. Re/Max WLD Champion Carl Wolter is also scheduled to appear.
In February, tournament organizers announced that three sports legends will participate in the 15th annual charity tournament; LPGA Hall of Famer Annika Sorenstam, professional wrestling legend Ric Flair and former Pittsburgh Steeler running back Jerome Bettis.
"We’ve been looking forward to this year’s tournament for awhile and are excited about the great field of professional athletes and celebrities who will us join us next Monday," said Darius Rucker of Hootie & The Blowfish. "Myrtle Beach is the ‘Golf Capital of the World’ and is the perfect site for our tournament. We hope to see a lot of our friends and fans out at The Dye Club next Monday."
Monday After The Masters Tournament officials also announced today that a limited number of tickets are still available and can be purchased at the House of Blues, the Barefoot Resort & Golf pro shops, all Ticketmaster outlets or at the Alabama Theatre on April 13th. Tickets are $15 with children 12 years of age and younger admitted free.
Children 12 years of age and younger will be admitted free but must pick up a complimentary ticket on the day of the event from the Barefoot Landing general parking area, near the Alabama Theatre. All minors must be escorted by an adult who previously purchased a ticket before the day of the tournament.
All ticket proceeds benefit the Hootie & The Blowfish Foundation, which supports the educational needs of children in South Carolina and the South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation. Last year, the tournament raised $460,000 for the charities.
