PGA of America to Address Government Impact on Golf Industry

2009 PGA Fall ExpoThe 2009 PGA Fall Expo, which is set for Sept. 1-2, in Las Vegas, will begin with a special presentation by The PGA of America addressing government legislation, relations and the importance of golf industry advocacy in the current economic climate.

The "Government Legislation Impacting Golf" seminar is open to all attending industry professionals and will be led by Christine Garrity, Managing Director and General Counsel for The PGA of America and Eric Winborn, Governmental Affairs Consultant for The PGA. The seminar will take place on Stage 3 on the PGA Fall Expo show floor, Tuesday, Sept. 1, 9:30-10:30 a.m. 

"Government Legislation Impacting Golf" is designed to help PGA Professionals and golf business leaders better understand government processes and the critical role of government relations at all levels. The current political environment, along with legislative and regulatory challenges facing the industry, will be addressed including federal and state taxes, environmental and labor issues, plus health care reform plans that could impact all golf employers.

Additionally, current golf industry coalition actions will be detailed; a blueprint for grassroots advocacy will be provided and tools to help influence government legislation will be shared. The "Government Legislation Impacting Golf" seminar is one of more than 20 free seminars in the PGA Fall Expo Education Conference, presented by PGA Golf Exhibitions, The PGA of America and the Association of Golf Merchandisers.
