Crescent Pointe Wins Lowcountry Course of the Year Honors

Bluffton, S.C. – Crescent Pointe Golf Club was named the Lowcountry Golf Course Owners Association Golf Course of the Year for 2010 and was ranked second best golf course in the state of South Carolina.
The judges rated the clubs based on quality of the course and management, in addition to the facility’s contribution to the community and the game of golf.
The award is a prestigious honor and places Crescent Pointe in elite company considering recent winners have include Harbour Town, Palmetto Dues and Hilton Head National.
Over the past year, Crescent Pointe has made dramatic improvements to its course conditions, incredible facility upgrades and followed a pro-active business strategy that led to an eight percent increase in rounds played in 2010 versus 2009.
“It is an honor to be recognized by the LGCOA as the Course of the Year in the Lowcountry,” stated Director of Golf Bill Layman. “The entire staff has worked hard over the past year to improve the conditions of the course and the club, as well as the service provided to our guests.”
Crescent Pointe has benefited from having a new management company, Sequoia Golf Management, and new ownership from Great Oaks Golf that provided nearly $700,000 of recent capital improvements in an effort to improve the overall guest experience.
The golf course has received significant improvements to the overall turf quality, aesthetics and playability. The clubhouse was also renovated with new paint, carpet and furniture, as well as granite countertops and flat screen televisions that added comfort and style to the clubhouse.
Crescent Pointe has also made outstanding contributions to the community by volunteering for regional business events and organizations, offering generous donations of rounds and other services, as well as providing junior golf support, player development support to others in the golf industry.
