Members now enjoy access to America’s best private golf courses and dining experiences

Pelican Preserve Solona Golf CourseBONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – Residents and buyers in the market for a Southwest Florida home now have even more reason to consider a community built by WCI Communities: free golf privileges and complimentary fine dining at the country’s top private golf courses and dinner clubs.

WCI Communities has formed a strategic partnership with ClubCorp that provides members and residents complimentary play at 140 country clubs and free four-course meals at more than 65 private restaurants, including Chicago’s famed Metropolitan Club, City Club on Bunker Hill in Los Angeles and the landmark 21 club in New York City.

ClubCorp’s Signature Gold membership program is an added benefit offered by WCI that’s ideal for those who travel for leisure golf or business trips, said Jim Magnusson, marketing and sales director for the company’s amenities division.

“No other homebuilder in Southwest Florida offers this amenity to their customers,” he said. “We have the exclusive partnership with ClubCorp, which has also waived enrollment fees for our residents. It’s a great perk.”

The Signature Gold network waives greens fees and the price of a meal for two. Golfers pay for cart use; diners pay beverage, tax and tip for meals. Magnusson said members who use the network to its fullest – two free rounds and two free dining experiences per month – can realize a $900 savings above the monthly membership costs. And, they can count on a world-class experience when they’re away from Southwest Florida.

“This is ideal for people who travel to play golf. The golf courses on ClubCorp’s list are among the top private country clubs in the United States,” said Magnusson. “We have members already planning trips to play golf in Palm Springs, Myrtle Beach and Scottsdale.”

Members simply log onto ClubCorp’s website and click onto the market they will visit. A list of member clubs pops onto the screen, and a link allows members to reserve a tee time up to 30 days in advance and make dining reservations. Members also can arrange their travel plans through the company’s ClubLine concierge service.

“This membership is great from a business standpoint because the network includes private business dining clubs in the country’s top 50 downtown metro areas,” Magnusson said.

Membership includes other exclusive privileges: tickets to major sporting events, concerts and theatrical performances, Titleist loaner golf clubs, access to private jets, and corporate rates at top-shelf resorts around the world.

“Our residents already enjoy world-class golf at home,” Magnusson said. “Now our strategic partnership with ClubCorp means they get the same experience when they travel throughout the country and even internationally.

“We felt this was something we could do for our members when they’re away from our clubs, especially those who travel back north for the summer. This gives them access to excellent golf and dining for free,” he said.

ClubCorp, considered the world leader in private clubs, also benefits from the alliance, since its members are able to sample the golf and dining experiences at WCI’s premier golf clubs in Southwest Florida.

Among WCI’s participating Signature Gold clubs: Tiburón and Hammock Bay golf clubs in Naples, Pelican Preserve in Fort Myers and Venetian Golf & River Club in Venice.

WCI Communities creates amenity-rich, master-planned lifestyle communities, catering to primary, retirement and second-home buyers. The company offers traditional single and multi-family home choices with prices from the mid-$100,000s to just under $1 million. In addition to homebuilding and development, WCI generates revenues from its Prudential Florida Realty business, the second largest residential realty company in Florida; its Wells Fargo-affiliated mortgage services; insurance and title services; and its recreational amenities, as well as through land sales and joint ventures.
