The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open will be played at the TPC Summerlin from Oct. 11- 18, 2009. This year marks the second year for Timberlake and the Shriners to sponsor the event and the 27th consecutive year that the Tour has made a stop in the “Entertainment Capital of the World."
A stellar field has committed to participate including six golfers ranked in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings: Kenny Perry, Jim Furyk, Hunter Mahan, Nick Watney, Brian Gay and Rory Sabbatini. Furyk is a three-time winner in Las Vegas.
“We’re all very excited for the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open,” said Tournament Director Adam Sperling. “Improvements to The Hill, along with the addition of our first ever Women’s Seminar, coupled with a strong field of both professionals and celebrities leave us with nothing but optimism as we move towards tournament week.”
The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open will boast a $4.2 million purse with a winner’s share of $756,000.
Tournament host (as well as Grammy & Emmy Award winner) Justin Timberlake will headline a celebrity Pro-Am on Wednesday, Oct. 14th and headline an Evening with Justin Timberlake & Friends slated for Saturday the 17th at the Mandalay Bay. All proceeds benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children.

“This event is very important to the city of Las Vegas and for the Shriners.” Sperling stated. “Don’t forget that this was the city with the Tour’s first ever million-dollar purse. It was also the site of Tiger Woods first career PGA Tour victory.
"For the Shriners Hospitals for Children - the PGA Tour and Las Vegas are perfect mediums to spread awareness of the amazing medical work they provide to children in Vegas, the United States, and all over the world – all free of charge.”
