The win was the fifth of Sabbatini's career on the PGA Tour and meant a great deal because the event honors Lord Byron.

CLIFTON, N.J. - The list of names crowded atop the Sybase Classic leader board is an eclectic grouping of major champions, unheralded internationals and one former child prodigy hoping to finally turn to the next chapter in her frequently debated and oft criticized golf career.
South Korea's Ji Young Oh, an LPGA rookie in 2007, and Suzann Pettersen, a five-time winner on Tour in 2007, vaulted ahead of second round leader Brittany Lincicome Saturday and into a share of the lead at 12-under-par. As a result of the auto industry's role in the economic collapse, Chrysler chose to dramatically reduce its presence at the 2009 Bob Hope Classic, known for its celebrity Pro-Am, in spite of the company's standing as the event's title sponsor, completely removing its name from promotional materials and television coverage, while making no mention of itself with signage at the tournament.
In light of the company's bankruptcy filing over the weekend, the PGA Tour and Desert Classic Charities, Inc., released a joint statement reassuring the tournament's supporters that the event would remain a fixture on the PGA Tour's schedule in 2010 and beyond with or without Chrysler's financial backing.
