PGA Tour Announces 2010 Official Money Schedule

The PGA Tour recently announced the complete official money 2010 schedule that features 46 total events running from the week of Jan. 4-10 at the SBS Championship through the week of Nov. 8-14 at the Children’s Miracle Network Classic.
The PGA Tour FedExCup Season will consist of 37 tournaments ending with the Wyndham Championship the week of Aug. 16-22. Two events will be part of the FedExCup points race for the first time — the inaugural The Greenbrier Classic and the Turning Stone Resort Championship which moves from the Fall Series to the FedExCup Season.
The PGA Tour Playoffs for the FedExCup will again begin with The Barclays and will be followed in consecutive weeks by the Deutsche Bank Championship and the BMW Championship. Following an off week, The Tour Championship presented by Coca-Cola will conclude the Playoffs and determine the FedExCup winner.
The Fall Series will kick off the week of Sept. 27-Oct. 3 with the Viking Classic, which will be played opposite the Ryder Cup in Wales. It will be followed by an event yet to be announced the week of Oct. 4-10 and then by the Frys.com Open at its new home at the CordeValle Golf Club in Northern California, Oct. 11-17. The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open will be held the week of Oct. 18-24 before the official money season concludes with the Children’s Miracle Network Classic, Nov. 8-14.
Purses across the board will remain essentially at 2009 levels with prize money at the major championships yet to be announced.

The broadcast lineup for 2010 is nearly identical to 2009 with just a couple of revisions:
· The Northern Trust Open and the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship will switch broadcast partners with NBC showing Northern Trust Open and CBS taking the Accenture Match Play Championship.
· Golf Channel will broadcast the Waste Management Phoenix Open for all four days.
· ESPN will have all four rounds of the British Open Championship.
In all, CBS will broadcast 21 events, 19 in combination with Golf Channel and one each in combination with ESPN and TNT. NBC will offer 11 broadcasts, 10 with Golf Channel and one with ESPN while Golf Channel will broadcast another 13 events from start to finish, including the entire Fall Series.
