Oklahoma State's Peter UihleinWINDERMERE, Fla. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team picked up its second team title in three outings this fall with its victory at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday at Isleworth Country Club in Windermere, Fla.

The Cowboys staved off a late rally by Florida as Peter Uihlein birdied his last two holes and Kevin Tway played his final three holes 1-under par. OSU carded a 301 during its final round to finish at 17-over 881, while the Gators' 302 score put them in sole possession of second place at 886.

Fowler, Ulhein Perfect as United States Team Retains Walker Cup Print E-mail

Rickie FowlerRickie Fowler and Peter Uihlein both went a perfect 4-0 to lead the United States of America to a 16½-9½ victory over Great Britain and Ireland at the 2009 Walker Cup Match, which concluded Sunday at the par-70, 6,846-yard Merion Golf Club.

It was the third consecutive win for the Americans, who now hold a 34-7-1 all-time record in the Walker Cup, a men’s amateur team competition played every other year, with one squad from the USA and the other representing England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland and Wales.

Ryan Moore Honorary Chairman of 2010 U.S. Amateur at Chambers Bay Print E-mail

Ryan Moore won the U.S. Amateur in 2004UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - Ryan Moore, the Tacoma, Wash., native who is establishing himself among the best professional golfers in the world, has agreed to serve as Honorary Chairman of the 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship at Chambers Bay, near Tacoma.

Moore is a Cascade Christian High School graduate who won the U.S. Amateur in 2004. He has hosted two charity golf events at Chambers Bay, and he welcomes the opportunity to help Pierce County present a successful championship on its publicly owned course.

Canada's Nick Taylor Wins The Mark H. McCormack Medal Print E-mail

Nick TaylorCanada's Nick Taylor will become the third recipient of the Mark H. McCormack Medal, the award given by The R&A to the top-ranked golfer in the World Amateur Golf Ranking at the end of the amateur season and following the European and US Amateur Championships.

The 22-year-old from Abbotsford, British Columbia, has had a truly outstanding season. Taylor ascended five places to the top of the Ranking in June after heading the U.S. Open sectional qualifying at Tumble Creek, Washington, at which the First Team All-American finished two shots clear of the largely professional field, and claimed one of the two places available.

Tringale, Uihlein Final Additions to U.S. Walker Cup Team Print E-mail

2009 Walker CupCameron Tringale, 22, of Laguna Niguel, Calif., and Peter Uihlein, 20, of Orlando, Fla., have been named to the 2009 USA Walker Cup Team by the International Team Selection Committee of the United States Golf Association.

Tringale and Uihlein are the final two players selected to the USA Team that will compete against 10 amateurs representing Great Britain and Ireland in the 42nd Walker Cup Match, to be played Sept. 12-13 at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pa.
