Belgian Bomber among latest commitments to RBC Heritage

Two International standouts and two young pros making a name for themselves have committed to play in this year’s RBC Heritage. Nicolas Colsaerts, David Lynn, Luke Guthrie and Michael Thompson will be playing in the 45th annual event, taking place April 15-21, 2013 over the Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island.
They will be joined by other PGA TOUR Professionals including defending champ Carl Pettersson, KJ Choi, John Daly, Luke Donald, Ernie Els, Jim Furyk, Brian Gay, Martin Kaymer, Matt Kuchar, Hunter Mahan, Graeme McDowell, Brandt Snedeker and Boo Weekley. The entire group will be shooting for the top prize of $1,044,000 from a purse of $5,800,000.
 
Colsaerts is known as the “Belgian Bomber” for his long drives and is currently ranked 40th in the World Golf Rankings.  Earlier this year, he hit a massive 419-yard drive at the Volvo Champions on the European TOUR.  He went onto finish tied for 9th.   The Brussels, Belgium native represented Europe in the 2012 Ryder Cup.  He recently beat Justin Rose and Bill Haas before losing to Matt Kuchar in the third round at the Accenture Match Play Championship.  He has earned 4 international victories and will be competing at Harbour Town for the first time.
 
Lynn has played professional golf since 1995 and has two international victories.  He made a name for himself in the United States when he placed second at the 2012 PGA Championship at Kiawah Island.  The British native recently tied for 4th at The Honda Classic.  He will also be making his first start at the RBC Heritage.
 
Guthrie has two top ten finishes on the PGA TOUR in 2013.  The Chicagoan held the second and third round leads at The Honda Classic and finished in third place.  He joined the PGA TOUR last year after graduating from the University of Illinois.  He will be making his first start at the RBC Heritage.
 
Thompson’s recent win at The Honda Classic earned him the 11th position on the FedEx Cup Rankings.   The University of Alabama graduate lives in Birmingham.  He will be competing for the third time at Harbour Town.

North of the Broad residents can now purchase tickets at the Beaufort Chamber of Commerce at 713 Craven Street.
