Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of working with a wonderful company in Trentino, located northern Italy. Cantina La Vis is a team of impassioned individuals, each as wonderful as the next and committed to developing wines that not only are very true to the region, but are meaningful and coincident with the preservation of heritage and culture.

Annika Sorenstam is the latest golfer to launch a wine brandLIVERMORE, Calif. - Annika Sorenstam, one of the most celebrated female golfers in history, launched her wine brand with the release of her namesake Syrha, Annika.This elegant wine is comprised of 75 percent Livermore Valley Syrah and 15 percent Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, and fittingly, 10 percent Cabernet Sauvignon from the Livermore Valley Golf Vineyard.

Throughout her storied 15-year playing career, Annika was fortunate to experience many of the best wines the world has to offer. At Wente Vineyards, which has partnered with Sorenstam, they share the same passion for fine wine, fine dining and golf as a way of life.

More and more women are entering into the wine business and particularly in the sales capacity. I feel women have the strength of easily forming relationships and this makes them great sales executives. I am also seeing more women in wine education and in marketing.  On the consumer front, I feel that women tend to be more open to trying new wines from different regions of the world.
