market, has delivered an excellent club choice in its latest short game
creation.
The CG14 offers a perfect balance of performance, versatility and forgiveness. The design integrates Cleveland Golf's most advanced manufacturing and feel technology with a tour scrutinized shape, sole and offset.
On each CG14 wedge, the grooves are milled to maximum conforming dimensions using a proprietary CNC mill to create envelope-stretching geometry. To improve shot consistency, the new groove geometry was coupled with an innovative plating process – making ZIP Grooves Cleveland Golf’s most consistent, precise and visible wedge technology to date.
The milling technology of Zip Grooves creates a larger groove volume, which channels more debris at impact than traditional grooves. Consistent spin is generated from all lies due to improved contact – making Zip Grooves perfect for players that expect optimal spin and distance control.
Gelback, Cleveland golf’s lightweight, visco-elastic, vibration-dampening material, is placed directly behind the hitting area of the clubface in the back cavity.
Gelback is vibration-tuned to remove unwanted vibration on mis-hits
while still allowing the player necessary feedback from the clubhead for a soft
yet responsive feel.
The CG14 is available in both low and standard bounce. Bounce is a design property in all irons, including wedges. Bounce is a measurement in degrees of the angle from the front edge of a club's sole to the point that actually rests on the ground at address. The middle or rear of many soles is lower than the front edge. Bounce is most commonly applied to wedges. More bounce will keep the club from digging too deeply into turf or sand.
The low bounce option is an outstanding choice for shots from tight lies and firm turf conditions. The combination of less bounce and narrower sole width lowers the leading edge of the blade to promote clean contact on every shot; perfect for players who have a shallow attack angle through impact.
The standard bounce option is the best all around wedge for playability in all types of conditions for all types of players. It’s very versatile for players who like to be creative around the greens. The standard bounce is also an excellent choice for players who like to play an open or square face out of the bunker, and who have an average to slightly steeper attack angle.
The CG14 comes in a variety of lofts (46° - 60°) and is available in black pearl and chrome.
