Stewart Cink Plays two Rounds of Golf at Old Corkscrew Golf Club

Old Corkscrew Golf ClubESTERO, Fla. - PGA Tour player Stewart Cink, currently ranked No. 19 in the Official World Golf Rankings and tenth in 2008 on the PGA Tour money list, took in not just one, but two rounds of golf at Old Corkscrew Golf Club in early January.

In town with family for a youth hockey tournament being held at Germain Arena, Cink checked out Old Corkscrew between games. He played his first round with some of the hockey dads on Monday, December 29 and liked it so much he brought family back and played a second round on the 31st.

According to Mark Iwinski, general manager of Old Corkscrew, Cink was very complementary about the golf course and its condition.

"It was a privilege to have Stewart Cink play Old Corkscrew, not once, but twice in the same week," Iwinski said. "He said he ranked the course on par with other championship courses that he has played. He also remarked how much he liked our pure golf experience, which is unlike most Florida golf courses that have homes lining the fairways."

Old Corkscrew Golf Club

Old Corkscrew is an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature design golf course located on Corkscrew Road between Fort Myers and Naples. The par-72 championship golf course is the only Signature Nicklaus Design non-residential course in Southwest Florida, which is the highest standard of design offered by Nicklaus Design and includes Jack Nicklaus' personal oversight and involvement in every step of the design and construction.

"As with all Nicklaus Design courses, it is distinctive, demanding and definitely unforgettable," Iwinski added. "I'm certain that is the reason Mr. Cink's returned for a second round."
