Tiger Woods is no doubt still relishing his victory at The Memorial, and it certainly looks as though he's hitting his stride as the U.S. Open nears, not to mention plenty of fairways (Tiger was 14 for 14 on Sunday). But according to the recently released Forbes Celebrity 100, Woods doesn't even beat out Beyonce Knowles, diva and singer famous for imploring men to "put a ring on it" if a woman is to their liking and urging ladies to upgrade their men if they're not up to par.
The magazine's annual power rankings, which are based on earnings and fame, feature movie stars, rockers, athletes, models, on-air personalities and even a few top chefs. Woods is No. 5 overall, but he does rank as the No. 1 man on the list, falling behind well-known and well-funded females like Angelina Jolie, Oprah, Madonna and Beyonce.
Woods beat out the likes of Kobe Bryant (No. 10), Simon Cowell (25), Phil Mickelson (36) and Barack Obama (49).
While it's not worth the trouble to analyze the merit of such a list, just as it wasn't wise to bother reading any of the endless Jack vs. Tiger who is the greatest articles circulating last week prior to The Memorial, if you're going to bother producing such a trivial celebrity power poll, it should be a little more accurate.
With apologies to Phil Mickelson, and absolute objection to the likes of Miley Cyrus, whose sold out concerts that make millions are a sad commentary on the American priority scale, having some of these bozos rank ahead of Barack Obama is idiotic. Please don't print a list next year if you're going to produce such a pile of garbage.
To that end, does anyone actually believe that Beyonce is more powerful than Tiger Woods based on the rather narrow criteria of earnings and fame; two categories Woods would win easily. I would pay to watch Tiger sing karoake, but couldn't say the same for following Beyonce around a golf course. Unless she was paired with Big Break Prince Edward Island's Blair O'Neal.

I know these lists are generated to cultivate interest and sell magazines, but that doesn't mean absolutely zero thought should be put into them.
Why doesn't Golf Digest print a list of all-time golf power rankings and put Sean O'Hair and Camilo Villegas ahead of Arnold Palmer and Gary Player?
Thumbs up for Tiger being recognized as one of the world's most famous citizens, but next time, please don't insult our intelligence by ranking Ryan Seacrest ahead of our President, who just so happens to the be the world's biggest celebrity at the moment, unless you commonly refer to him in secret as "The Tiger Woods Guy."
