Trio Tied at 3-Under

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. - With ideal weather and a golf course in near perfect condition, three players are tied atop the Raymond James Indianapolis Open leader board after posting rounds of 68 at Harbour Trees Golf Club.

Amateurs Connor O’Neal (Carmel) and Brooks Snyder (West Lafayette) will share the final tee time with PGA Member Ryan Ford, Director of Golf at Pleasant Run/Sarah Shank Golf Courses in Indianapolis. All three golfers started their first rounds on hole 10 with Ford and O’Neal in the same pairing and Snyder just behind them.

“I was able to take advantage of all the par-5s today,” said Ford. “Hitting short irons into those holes made a huge difference.”

O’Neal credits his putter for his stellar round. The 20 year old Ball State University golfer was 4-under at the turn but had a 1-over par 36 on his second nine. “I missed two greens on the front nine and just couldn’t get it up and down,” said O’Neal.

Avoiding a single bogey helped Brooks Snyder get to his 3-under 68. “The greens are in such great shape,” said Snyder. His only misstep came on the 8th hole when he had to take an unplayable lie but was still able to save par.

The field was cut to low 60s and ties after the completion of the first round. The final round will start with tee times at 8 a.m. off both tees on Tuesday, May 14.
