Aromas Celebrates Four Years of Success

A passion for golf and giving, and, yes, a love of cigars, wine, and martinis, have over the past four years successfully raised over $170,000 for First Coast charities. The Aromas Charity Golf Tournament, held each year at local premier golf courses such as the TPC Stadium Course, The Slammer and Squire, and The King and Bear, have become one of the First Coast’s “don’t miss” tournaments in recent years.

Since its inception in 2003, The Aromas Charity Golf Tournament has grown from 88 players its first year to over 180. Included on the players list are a number of celebrities such as Jaguars Marcus Stroud, Paul Spicer and Earnest Wilford, retired NFL great Bill Gates, retired PGA star Calvin Peete and Basketball Hall of Famer Sam Jones. In addition to the celebrity list, The Aromas Tournament has also included a number of local and national sponsors. The Hammond Foundation, Premier Beverage, Southern Wine and Spirits, Parker Cadillac, Coca-Cola, and the World Golf Hall of Fame are just a few among the distinguished list of sponsors for this great event.

Participants to the Aromas’ Tournament have been dazzled with a number of special and fun events which have helped keep sponsors and players coming back year after year. A sponsor’s dinner at the World Golf Hall of Fame, $10,000 putting contest, $1,000,000 Hole-in-One contest, boats, cars, and a live auction where bidders will have the opportunity to win everything from autographed memorabilia to a ride on a fighter jet, have set this tournament apart from most in the area. The Betty Griffin House, Edward Waters College, Communities in Schools, and The Heart Gallery are just a few of the local organization which have greatly benefited from the tournament in past years.

The Aromas Charity Golf Tournament is a wonderful opportunity for the community to enjoy the wonderful game of golf, display its passion for cigars, and give back to the charities which have given so much to the Jacksonville area. Aromas’ 5th Annual Charity Golf Tournament will be held in spring of 2008. With great support and combined enthusiasm from the community, Aromas hopes to have its biggest year so far.

After first opening their door in 2003, Aromas continues to prosper as the First Coast’s only upscale cigar, wine and martini bar. With a variety of musical entertainment five nights a week, NE Florida’s largest selection of cigars, and a sophisticated, upscale environment in which enthusiasts can not only enjoy a cigar but dinner as well, Aromas has much to offer.
