Lawyers On The Links Names Saba Executive Director Of Jacksonville Chapter

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Lawyers on the Links has named Chris Saba executive director of the Jacksonville chapter. Lawyers on the Links is a non-profit organization providing networking and golf benefits for legal professionals and law students with the overarching mission to prevent suicide and improve health within the legal community.

Saba will be responsible for developing a relationship with attorneys and law students in the Jacksonville and surrounding areas, as well as creating a student support program to be implemented on law school campuses. He will also be working to develop suicide prevention and health programs, while building partnerships with other organizations such as the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Active Minds and various lawyers assistance programs doing similar work.

“Chris will be an outstanding addition to our team,” Lawyers on the Links president Scott Winch said. “His compassion and energy for suicide prevention work, and commitment to removing the stigma associated with this epidemic, is unmatched. We are so lucky to have such a qualified individual representing our foundation.”

Saba has his B.A. in history from Huntingdon College and J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law. He is currently an attorney with Vernis & Bowling of North Florida, P.A. in Jacksonville.

"Having gone through the rigors of law school and experiencing the stress placed on law students and attorneys, the mission of this organization is one I am personally and professionally invested in,” Saba said. “I want to do what I can to remove the stigma associated with this epidemic, as well as work hard to prevent valuable lives from being cut short and other loved ones from experiencing this devastating type of loss.”
