The Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open

See more PGA TOUR Golf in October!
The Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open presented by Planters generated over $1.6 million for charity.Returning this fall to the outstanding Dye’s Valley course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach is the second annual Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open presented by Planters, October 17-23rd. In its first year, this Nationwide Tour event burst onto
the professional golf scene hosting the future stars of the PGA TOUR and raising a record-breaking amount for charity.

Jeff Sanders, Executive Director of the event and a former PGA TOUR player himself, points out that “the impact of Nationwide Tour graduates on the PGA TOUR has been nothing short of phenomenal in 2011. The Nationwide Tour is the launch pad that prepares players for long and successful careers on the PGA TOUR.” Not only did Nationwide Tour alumni win the first eight PGATOUR events this year – a record – but they have been victorious in 22 of 29 PGA TOUR events so far this season. The total number of PGA TOUR wins by Nationwide Tour alumni now stands at 310. These guys have proven how well they can play on golf’s biggest stage!

Nationwide Tour players and children of all ages unite for the always popular Junior Golf Clinic!A few recognizable Nationwide Tour alumni now on the PGA TOUR include local Ponte Vedra Beach resident Jim Furyk, Bubba Watson, Matt Kuchar, Jason Day, Zach Johnson, Jhonattan Vegas, Stewart Cink, Gary Woodland, and Brendan Steele. Vegas, Woodland and Steele went on to earn their PGA TOUR cards the week after playing in the 2010 Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open presented by Planters.

The event made a remarkable impact on the local community by generating a record amount for a first-year Nationwide Tour event to charity. The record $1.6 million raised is thanks to the PepsiCo TICKETS Fore CHARITY™ program, Winn-Dixie Inc., which provided local charities tournament tickets to sell, and the financial success of the tournament managed by Jeff Sanders Promotions, Inc.

Jhonattan Vegas played in the 2010 Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open. Three months later, he won the Bob Hope Desert Classic.Through the TICKETS Fore CHARITY™ program local non-profits have the opportunity to sell tickets and retain 100% of their sales. Almost every participating non-profit organization has reenlisted, along with many new nonprofits, and Sanders expects an even bigger charity contribution to the local community this year.

This year’s tournament will provide great golf and good fun as it expands to include social events for patrons of all ages, including a Friday-night concert, a family day and a pancake breakfast all for ONLY $25, the price of a weekly ticket, purchased in advance. Daily parking is included. To buy tickets, visit www.winndixiejacksonvilleopen.com.
