Conestoga Golf Club - Nevada's Newest Golf Star

Conestoga Golf ClubWelcome to the newest golf destination in Southern Nevada, Conestoga Golf Club. Just an hour north of Las Vegas, and a short 30-minute drive south of St. George, Utah, you will find a most impressive golf experience at Conestoga, the newest addition to the growing golf mecca of Mesquite, Nevada.

Conestoga Golf Course is a championship par-72 layout spanning 7,232 yards with a rating of 74.9 and a challenging slope of 147. Although the yardage and rating may seem intimidating, renowned golf course architect Gary Panks took great care in designing a course that would offer an enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels. The course offers a choice of five different tees on each hole, beginning at 5,017 for the forward tees, making the course as manageable or challenging as the golfer chooses.

Conestoga Golf Club is surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges, and a backdrop of snow-capped mountains in the distance that create an exquisite array of colors and shapes that enhance the magical atmosphere. The artful design of the course results in a spectacular layout that utilizes the natural flow of the landforms with dramatic canyons and breathtaking vistas, adding to the already stunning natural topography of the area.

Conestoga’s front nine is among the most picturesque in the southwest. The 2nd hole offers the first of several dramatic par-3 holes. At 188 yards, it plays off a high bluff to a green set hard against a wash, some 100 feet below. The 394-yard par-4 4th, features a split fairway with an invisible 50-foot drop-off to a landing area below. The 6th offers the first par-5 of the course at 540 yards. Noted by Panks as being “an awesome piece of real estate for a golf hole,” Panks continues, “There are three separate fairway segments with a total of four bridged wash crossings here. The terrain is rugged, with he well bunkered green resting at the base of the mountain.”

On the back nine, the 15th tee is elevated more than 60 feet with a dogleg left that will play much shorter than advertised. The 18th, a difficult driving, 470-yard par-4, drops 34 feet from tee to green, with an incredible view of towering Virgin RiverMountains, sets up perfectly for a birdie/bogey scenario, which could turn a match around.
