Wow! PGA Golf Club Coyote Springs is Stunning

The Chase at PGA Golf Club Coyote SpringsHonestly, when was the last time you were taken back by the beauty of a golf course? The first time you saw Pebble? A late afternoon round at Torrey Pines? For me, it was when I played PGA Golf Club Coyote Springs.

The Chase at PGA Golf Club Coyote Springs is a new Jack Nicklaus Signature Design – “Signature” meaning, the legendary Golden Bear actually designed the course himself. The Chase is simply awe-inspiring. PGA Golf Club’s desert locale is surrounded by magnificent mountains that seemingly change colors like a chameleon – red, orange, purple…the colors never stop. The course’s rye-grass fairways were in Augusta-like shape, a.k.a. perfect. The eleven lakes on the course are straight out of a scene from the movie The Blue Lagoon – thanks to land that is rich in minerals the water that flows out of the ground is a beautiful turquoise blue color. Add to all of that the stark natural beauty of the Southern Nevada desert and you have a breathtaking golf experience.

Located 50-minutes north of Las Vegas, The Chase at PGA Golf Club Coyote Springs is the first new course to open in the Las Vegas area in more than six years and is certainly one of the most ambitious projects the region has ever seen. Initial development plans call for up to a dozen golf courses to be built at Coyote Springs over the next half-century and eventually hundreds of thousands of residents will relocate to this new desert sanctuary.

Besides being beautiful, The Chase at PGA Golf Club is a challenging 7,471-yard layout that plays to a par 72, has a demanding 75.8 rating and a testy 141 slope from the championship tees. Green complexes are fortified by deep, white-sand bunkers and feature plenty of movement and plateaus that are ripe for strategic pin placements. For me, The Chase is the finest desert course the Golden Bear has ever built.

The pure golf experience at PGA Golf Club is enhanced by the club’s caddie program. The caddies – or PGA Golf Club Ambassadors as they’re called – offer forecaddie services and will help guide you around The Chase.

In addition to The Chase course, a second golf course at PGA Golf Club is currently in the planning stages. This yet-to-be-named second course, a collaboration between Jack Nicklaus and legendary architect Pete Dye, is expected to be built in the next few years.
