PGA Expo Introduces New Programs; Welcomes Top Vendors, Plans Special Events

The PGA of America and PGA Golf Exhibitions are welcoming a strong list of more than 250 golf apparel, equipment and accessory vendors and brands to the 2012 PGA Expo, Aug. 20-22, at the Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas. This year's event will be enhanced with new fashion presentations and displays; education and networking programs offering introductory and advanced learning opportunities; and expanded product demonstrations and equipment testing opportunities.

"Beginning with new outdoor instructional workshops prior to Demo Night and including daily featured speakers, new fashion presentations and the new equipment and instructional section of the Show floor, the 2012 PGA Expo is introducing several new exciting programs while bringing back all of the popular programs our attendees value," said PGA Golf Exhibitions Industry Vice President John McGeary.

Instruction Workshops - Demo Night - Networking
The 2012 PGA Expo begins with two workshops that focus on new golfer instruction/retention prior to Demo Night at the Callaway Golf Center, from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 20. The newest equipment, training aids and accessories will be put to the test first hand by registered PGA Expo professionals, 6-9 p.m., at the Center's two-tiered 113-stall lighted driving range, plus the putting and chipping greens. Attendees also can enjoy a social golf outing at the Center's Divine Nine, a nine-hole lighted par-3 course.

Exhibits - Presentations - Demonstrations
This year, each exhibition morning will begin with a featured golf industry presentation on the Expo floor main stage. Organizers also are planning a new, top apparel designer panel for the benefit of PGA Expo and MRket/MODA retailers to discuss the latest fashion trends in golf and lifestyle categories and crossover merchandising opportunities on Tuesday morning, Aug. 21. After the main stage presentations each day, the area will be converted into a PGA Professional and buyer networking lounge to facilitate conversations on trends, new products and best practices. The show floor also will see a new equipment and instruction section which will showcase the latest in equipment, ball flight monitors, simulators, clubfitting and teaching and training aids. This area is anchored by an expanded putting green with turnkey kiosks for putter companies as well as the new Performance and Club Testing Center (formerly the Equipment Testing Center) which will allow attendees hands-on testing of the latest in new equipment and training aids. A new "Fashion Row" located in the Venetian Ballroom hallway will give buyers a glimpse of the latest designs before stepping onto the Show floor and the popular New Product Zone is expanding due to growing interest in previewing the newest golf merchandise and services in one convenient setting. More than 250 vendors are expected to show their latest equipment, training aids, apparel, products and services for thousands of PGA Expo attendees including vendors such as Abacus, AHEAD, Antigua, Bobby Jones, Callaway Golf, Carnoustie, Cutter & Buck, Donald Ross Sportswear, Dunning Golf, EP Pro, Fairway & Greene, Flightscope, FootJoy, Foresight Sports, Full Swing, Gear for Sports, Greg Norman Collection, Izod Golf, J. Each day after the main stage presenters, The PGA of America, the Association of Golf Merchandisers and PGA Golf Exhibitions will present on a new education program in nearby meeting rooms focusing on golf retail, teaching, business and growth of the game initiatives by many of the industry's top PGA Professionals and expert instructors. Additional education opportunities are being made available on Monday, Aug. 20, at the AGM Summer Forum & Reception where merchandiser roundtables, designer discussion panels and a pre-Demo Night reception and product preview will be held at the Venetian. The Golf Business Network (GBN) Head Professional Summit also will take place on Monday with GBN attendees joining AGM attendees for the pre-Demo Night reception and product preview. PGA Expo organizers will provide complimentary transportation for all AGM and GBN attendees to Callaway Golf Center.

In addition to the AGM Summer Forum, GBN Summit, Demo Night and the new networking lounge on the Show floor, the popular Annual Opening Night Industry Reception returns in 2012 on Tuesday, Aug. 20. The 2012 PGA Expo is valuably positioned among five trade shows during Las Vegas "fashion week" including MAGIC™, MODA™, MRket®, and ACCESSORIES: The Show®* to allow vendors and attendees to take advantage of multiple business and networking events among the "fashion week" shows. "Plans are in place for another exciting PGA Expo featuring a valuable mix of top vendors, influential buyers, solid programming and in the great destination of Las Vegas," said McGeary. "The 2012 PGA Expo will bring our industry together in the second half of the season to see what's next in merchandise, education and golf programming to deliver sales, satisfaction and increased participation by consumers in 2013."
