Bucks Run Golf Course, The Hunt Is On!

The course is blessed with abundant, natural beauty. The par-72 layout features miles of Chippewa River Frontage, wetlands and three lakes. Water comes into play on nearly half of the holes at Bucks Run.

The largest lake was once a rock quarry, and is now surrounded by two holes on the front nine and three holes on the back nine.

Randy Pritchard of Michigan Golf Magazine had only good things to say about the course, which also earned 4.5 stars from Golf Digest in 2006.

Bucks Run also received 4.5 stars in the "Places to Play" vote by Golf Digest readers in 2004 along with being recognized among the top 50 courses nationwide in terms of "Course Condition."

Golfers will be tested early and often at Bucks Run. The par-5 third hole is the longest on the course, playing 588 yards from the black tees; overall the blacks measure 6,765 yards. After bringing out the big club for the third hole, players will be confronted with the longest par-3 on the course at No. 4, measuring 196 yards from the back tees. Things get a bit easier with a relatively short 405-yard par-4 but quickly pick up with another lengthy par-5 at the sixth.

The course is rated overall at 72.5 from the back tees with a slope rating of 135.

The banquet room holds up to 300 people with an adjacent VIP room that can accommodate up to 35. There is also an 18,000 sq. ft. clubhouse and a fully stocked pro shop on the grounds.

The staff at Bucks Run specializes in hosting weddings, corporate events and parties of any size. The facility is sold out every Saturday from April to the end of October with wedding receptions.

Named the "Best New Amenity" by Great Lakes Golf Magazine, the Putting Island at Bucks Run features an 18-hole real-grass course in the middle of a large lake. The putting course takes up over 2 acres and can be played by anyone with a putter and a ball. The nines are separated by a babbling rock creek, sand bunkers and fescues.

The putting course can be used as an added attraction for corporate outings and for weekend family fun.
