New General Manager for Grand Traverse Resort and Spa Announced

Grand Traverse Resort & Casinos, which is the Economic Development Corporation of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, is pleased to announce that Mr. Timothy Norman will be the new General Manager of Grand Traverse Resort and Spa in Acme.

Mr. Norman's experience in hotels and resorts spans over 20 years. Most recently, Mr. Norman was General Manager of the McCamly Plaza Hotel in Battle Creek. Previously he was General Manager of the Double JJ Ranch & Golf Resort in Rothbury.

His prior experience includes over 10 years as Vice President and General Manager of the Ogle Bay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia, and positions at other properties. His early career was in the Front Office of The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia and in sales at The Homestead in Hot Springs, Virginia.

Mr. Norman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Virginia Tech. During his tenure at Ogle Bay Resort, he also served as president of the Virginia chapter of Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International for 9 years.

Mr. Norman's first day as General Manager of Grand Traverse Resort and Spa will be March 1, 2012.
