Arcadian Shores Golf Club To Host Family Day

Arcadian Shores Golf Club will be one of about 45 golf facilities in South Carolina and North Carolina that will host a Family Golf Day Saturday, July 28, with a chance to win practice round tickets to the upcoming PGA Championship at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, Aug. 6-12.

Arcadian Shores will offer a free kids golf clinic from 9 a.m. to noon, with a six-hole putting contest to follow. To register, visit Arcadian Shores in person at 701 Hilton Road in Myrtle Beach or call the pro shop at (843) 449-5217.

After lunch, kids will have the chance to play free on the course if accompanied by a paying adult.

Family Golf Day is a new promotion of the PGA of America, which conducts the PGA Championship. The promotion is being offered to the 190 golf courses throughout the Carolinas PGA Section.

"We are encouraging everyone to have fun playing golf as a family," said Lee Ann Finger, national promotions specialist for the PGA of America. "And we are offering each participating facility a chance to win practice round tickets to the PGA Championship."

"This is a program that fits in well with the kind of core values we have and we welcome the chance to participate in a program that brings families to the golf course," said Jason Mitchell, head professional at Arcadian Shores.
