Ace Classic Qualifying Ready To Begin

The first stage of qualifying for the Ace Classic - PGA Champions Tour is just two days away begins 8:00 am., Friday, February 11 at Old Corkscrew Golf Club. A large majority of these competitors are players who have sincere aspirations and hopes of one-day competing regularly on the PGA Champions Tour. Some of SWF finest senior club professionals are expected to be entered in the field.
Players who advance from the first stage will then be joined on Monday, February 14 by players who currently have non exempt - conditional status on the PGA Champions Tour. The vast majority of these players are tour members who in prior years competed regularly on the PGA Tour. These players either lack or fall short of the required money earnings or tournament wins to be deemed an exempt player.

CBS Sports broadcaster and Bonita Springs winter resident Bobby Clampett is entered in Monday's qualifying field. However, this may all change as Clampett currently stands as the second alternate in this week's event which takes place in Southeast Florida.

Clampett who recently turned 50, decided to forego his distinguished career as a golf broadcaster, instead broadcast on a part-time basis which will allow him to compete regularly on the Champions Tour. Should he get in this week's event, then have strong finish, will decide on whether or not he needs to in-fact still qualify.

Jay Delsing, Trevor Dodds, EW Eaks, James Mason, Danny Mijovic, Walter Hall and many other notable - recognizable players are registered to try and qualify.

At the Ace Classic event, by visiting and entering a contest that will be going on at the Golfers Guide booth, one lucky winner will walk away with a one-year membership to Old Corkscrew Golf Club. To learn more and enter, please be sure to visit the Golfers Guide booth.
