Charity Pro-Am to Benefit Girls Golf Programs

EWGA Naples ChapterThe Naples Chapter of the EWGA (Executive Women's Golf Association) is holding its 7th Annual EWGA Ladies Charity Pro-Am at The Quarry in Naples to benefit Collier County LPGA USGA Girls Golf programs and the PACE Center for Girls in Immokalee.

The event begins Friday evening, June 11, with a buffet dinner and program that includes a DJ, skills challenges, raffle prizes and a silent auction. Saturday, June 12 is the 4-person scramble tournament with an LPGA teaching professional paired with each group. The 8:30 a.m. shotgun start is followed by an awards luncheon.

During the past six years, this charity tournament has raised nearly $50,000. Friday night will be very special for four graduating seniors who will receive $500 scholarships. All scholarship recipients participated in the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Program, Collier County.

EWGA has been a long-term supporter of LPGA-USGA Girls Golf, an organization which provides local girls with the opportunity to achieve success, progress in golf and learn life lessons inherent to the game, such as patience, respect, perseverance and honesty.

PACE Center for Girls is a program for girls ages 11-18 who are experiencing difficulty or conflict in school and at home. This year, the EWGA, Naples Chapter is also setting up a scholarship fund for the PACE Center for Girls. Scholarships will be awarded to deserving high school graduates and will help them pursue education/training after graduation. PACE helps these young women complete their education, build self-esteem and develop personal, social and family relationship skills.

This tournament is one of the few all women Pro-Am golf tournaments played in southwest Florida and draws golfers from across the state, as well as from several other states. If interested in playing, sponsoring or being a volunteer, please call Valerie Klosterman at (239) 495-7636.
