Craig Isabel Battles Brutal Weather to Win on WFGT

SARASOTA - Craig Isabel won his first event on the West Florida Golf Tour and was the only player in the field at even par or better. His (E) 72 was one better than recent Q-School finals participant Seath Lauer and his 1-over 73.

Isabel fought 40 mile per hour winds and chilling temperatures around the perfectly manicured Founders Club en route to his first win.

The victory propelled him to third place in the "Race to the Ritz" Q-School competition right behind money leader Erik Barnes and last week's winner Adam Hogue. Also playing well were Matt Stauch, Matthew Galloway and Benjamin Palanszki. All three shot 2-under-par 74's.

The WFGT would like to thank the Founders Golf Club for its amazing job in course preparation. Jim Owen and the rest of his staff once again showed why the Founders Club is one of the premier golfing facilities in the Sarasota area. Next up on the "Race to the Ritz" is a trip down south to Old Corkscrew and its very challenging layout. Don't miss out. Register now!
