FGCU Founder's Cup golf tourney breaks $1 million mark

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Golfers and sponsorships raised $69,000 during the 20th Annual Florida Gulf Coast University Founder’s Cup Golf Tournament at Pelican’s Nest Golf Club in Bonita Springs. The total boosts the amount generated by past tournaments to more than $1 million for the Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation, which provides funds to enhance scientific, educational and charitable programs related to the mission of the university, outside the scope of regular state funding.

Low gross winner on Pelican’s Nest Golf Club’s Gator Course was the foursome from Coleman, Hazzard & Taylor, P.A. Team Verandah was the low gross winner on Pelican’s Nest Golf Club’s Hurricane Course.

“We continue to be amazed by the support we receive from Southwest Florida businesses and the community,” said Kelley Reyff, director of events and special projects with the Division of University Advancement at FGCU. “We filled 53 teams and all the sponsorship opportunities.”
