The South Florida PGA will once again run the Pre and Event Qualifiers for the Champions Tour ACE Group Classic, which will take place the week of February 13th - 19th  at The Club at Twin Eagles in Naples.

Individuals interested in a chance to qualify to play in The ACE Group Classic must register and successfully compete in an 18-hole stroke play Pre-Qualifier in order to move on to the Event Qualifier.  The ACE Group Classic Pre-Qualifier will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at Old Corkscrew Golf Club in Estero, FL.

The Pre-Qualifier is open to all amateurs and professionals aged 50+ or turning 50 by the date of the Pre-Qualifier and will be conducted as an 18-hole stroke play competition.  Field size is limited to 144 players.  All entries will be prioritized on a "first-come first-served" basis. 

The low five (5) scorers from the Pre-Qualifier will gain entry into the Event Qualifier, which will be held at Old Corkscrew Golf Club in Estero, FL, on Tuesday, February 14, 2012.    The Event Qualifier competition will be an 18-hole stroke play competition with a maximum of the low seven (7) scorers from the event advancing to the tournament proper - the exact number of qualifiers will be posted prior to the commencement of play of the Event Qualifier. 

The Event Qualifier is open to professionals only, age 50 and over.  Amateurs are permitted to enter and compete in Pre-Qualifying and maintain his/her status; however, should an amateur competing in the Pre-Qualifier successfully qualify for the Event Qualifier, he or she must forfeit their amateur status prior to entering the Event Qualifier.  Amateurs who become professional specifically to enter Event Qualifying and are not successful in qualifying may apply to the USGA for reinstatement of amateur status.

The entry fee for the ACE Group Championship Pre-Qualifier is $220.  Players advancing to the Event Qualifier will not be subject to an additional fee. The deadline for registration for the 2012 ACE Group Championship Pre-Qualifier is Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 5:00 p.m., Eastern Time.
