SFPGA NEWS: Atlantis proves to be a tough test for juniors

The South Florida PGA Junior Tour presented by the Honda Classic hosted Event #12 at Atlantis County Club in Atlantis, FL.

Alex Lutz of Lighthouse Point claimed his 1st Overall Title of the season shooting 74-74 for a two-day score of 148. Coming in tied for 2nd with a score of 150 was Nicolas Cavero of Doral and Dominick Vennari of Stuart.

Notable mention goes to James Rutherford of Boca Raton for getting an albatross.  An albatross is the coveted 3 under par that few golfers ever achieve. Congratulations James!

In the Girls Overall division, Tess Huber of Port St. Lucie claimed her 1st title with a 71-78-149. Finishing 2nd with a score of 154, was Claudia De Antonio of Weston. Annie Dulman of Palm Beach Gardens finished in 3rd place with a 155.

Ty Strafaci of Davie claimed his 7th title of the year in the Boys 12-13 age division with 75-71-146 to win by 3 strokes. Coming in 2nd with a 74-75-149 was Andrew Kozan of Palm Beach Gardens. Finishing 3rd was Hamilton Long of Palm Beach Gardens with a 78-77-155.

In the Girls 12-13 age division, Zora Gittens claimed her 5th title in a row by shooting 79-76-155.  Story Shaw of West Palm Beach came in 2nd with a 162.  Kaely Krayeski of Wellington finished 3rd with a 166.

The next South Florida PGA Junior Tour event will be the Tour Championship at Jonathan’s Landing at Old Trail in Jupiter, on December 3-4.
