The Club at Mediterra Expands Facility

The Club at Mediterra announced recently that it would be expanding its facilities. After a much publicized and challenging turnover from the developer of Mediterra to its members, the club is expanding just six months after the highly successful campaign ended Dec. 3, 2009.

“The success of the turnover was greater than the financial model and projections predicted,” said Director of Membership Max Passino. At turnover through June, the club welcomed over 70 new members. Therefore decisions were made to expand the Club with two popular amenities - a bar gathering area and Bocce.”

Mediterra and its members hosted an improvised Bocce Event last season utilizing tennis courts. The event was such a success (over 160 reservations plus a waiting list), that permanent Bocce courts with a bar are being constructed. Completion is expected some time in November. The cost is anticipated at somewhere around $40,000 with no assessment to members.

In December, members will find a new Outdoor Bar/Dining gathering area in which to socialize. Rich Schmidt, board of governors president said, “It essentially doubles our capacity for outdoor dining, while providing a large bar and gathering area under an elegant tent on the patio.”

This project is estimated to come in at “a cost not to exceed $800,000 and no assessments will be required.” provided Schmidt. Advantages to the new gathering area include:

- Provides a spectacular bar area which will become the central gathering spot for our membership
- Located to be convenient for after golf and other sports activities, and before dinner cocktails with great views to the golf course
- Combines three areas with different sizes, environments, seating options and views offering a variety of experiences for our members each time they visit the Club

Mediterra has hired Peacock + Lewis and Ferry Hayes & Allen for the project.

The Club at Mediterra has achieved national recognition as one of the top golf facilities in America.
