Three-Time PGA Tour Winner Gamez Claims WFGT Title at Founders Club

SARASOTA - Robert Gamez won for the third time on the West Florida Golf Tour Tuesday afternoon when he fired a sensational 7-under 65 at The Founders Club. His 65 was two shots better than WFGT Money Leader Joey Lamielle's 5-under-par 67.

Gamez's bogey free, seven birdie round was also a competitive course record at the Founders Club. Also playing well were Taylor Stewart, recent Nationwide Tour Qualifier Brad Revell and Jacksonville's Joe Monte. All three finished tied for 3rd with rounds of 69.

Robert Gamez is awarded the winner's share

The WFGT would like to thank the Founders Golf Club and its staff for preparing the course for tournament play. The players were delighted to have played on such a championship venue. The Tour now has a week off before heading north to TPC of Tampa Bay and the home of the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am on the Champions Tour.
