overall_winners_-_tim_cochran_brian_thompson_chris_black_dave_farr.jpgFORT MYERS, Fla. – More than 130 realtors gathered at Verandah for the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Myers and the Beach golf tournament benefiting three programs – Vacations for Veterans and the association’s Crisis Fund and Housing Foundation.

The four-person teams were divided into four categories – men’s, women’s, mixed and office – in an 18-hole best-ball tournament that included a longest drive and closest-to-the-pin contests. Participants also took part in a silent auction that further benefited the charities.

The team of Chris Black, Brian Thompson, David Farr and Tim Cochran came in first place with a score of 56. Longest drive winner was Brad Larson, while Brad Carpenter achieved closest-to-the pin status.

Verandah, the 1,456-acre master-planned community located along the Orange River in Fort Myers, offers two world-class courses. Old Orange, Verandah’s first 18-hole championship golf course designed by award-winning golf course architect Bob Cupp, was inspired by the spectacular oak trees throughout the site.

Whispering Oak, the challenging but beginner-friendly course, was designed by Jack Nicklaus and Jack Nicklaus II. For more information call 866-694-7199 or go online to
